On December 3, 2020 Hatch Art House celebrated the tenth anniversary of opening their doors to the public. For the last decade they've been sharing art with the community, showcasing and promoting local artists from Madison and around Wisconsin. Instead of curating the group show they typically have in January, Tammy, the owner and mastermind behind Hatch (and its sister-store, Hazel General Store) decided to do something different this year. They have invited all their artists to celebrate the last decade with a show entitled "Ten" that runs from January 10 thru March 10. The show will evolve as artists continue to bring in new pieces throughout this three month period.

On December 29, 2020 I celebrated my entry into this world.... um, it starts with an "F" and rhymes with "ifty", years ago. I'm not gonna lie, I was gonna lie. Or at least never admit it publicly. It's given me no shortage of thinky thoughts and self-bemoaning ruminations. Think Joey. A lot of it had to do with the fact that I got married a bit later in life and had my little beeboo Lukey at an "advanced maternal age" (see here for some background ;) and I feel like I "lost" a decade of my life so clearly I really should only be turning 40. But. It is what it is so whatevs. Imma just gonna own it.

So I've decided my pieces for the "Ten" show would be vignettes of my last decade, as I ponder what has happened in my life - the BEST, by the way, decade of my life! I wouldn't change it for the world! I started it by growing a little ninjababe with my ninja boy. Turtle was still with us. And we've lived in ... 9 different homes in 2 countries, 3 states and 6 cities in the last decade. I'm pretty sure musing over this time period will give me no shortage of ideas to paint!

Stay tuned to my facebook and instagram pages for posts on Mondays and Wednesdays, where I will be unveiling new pieces for the next three months! If you haven't yet signed up for my mailing list, be sure to hop on over there and drop your deets for exclusive content, first dibs, and special deals!

I dropped off the first 4 pieces at Hatch last week, and they are currently available. If you are not in Madison, or unable to go see them in person, you are welcome to contact Hatch via phone or email, as they are happy to take payment online/by phone and ship the art to you.
