a new artist!

tiago

Yesterday I was sent this lovely image of a piece of art done by an up-and-coming new Seattle artist named Tiago. He’s only 6 years old and loves to draw! I am quite honored that he likes ninjagrl and has drawn versions of his own ninja girl. This one is great! I love her curls and her polka dot dress… and the turtles are awesome! The one that is climbing that mountain… I wonder what he is up to? It looks like an interesting story! And the one that is on her head? That definitely looks like something Turtle would do!)
It really made my day – and today too! I’m still smiling! :) And he’s inspired me to get back to my desk and start painting! Thanks, Tiago!

oh my. what a horrible waste of resources! (but i really want them all) I would play with them. We’d have a colony. There would be rulers. And serfs. And pirates. ..
do you think goodwill has 24 sets of decorative mini chicks? of course not. who would ever get rid of theirs???
(i’d make them peep. A lot.)

Thought Processor.

together

All pieces from the Seattle show are available for viewing/purchase here!

“Thought Processor leads a mostly sentient existence. It is available to bounce ideas off of, also has been known to just float and listen. Beware! Don’t try to play mind games! For it ALSO has been known to cause brainstorms. Or worst yet, roll all over you and your stuff with its think tank.” – PHONETICONTROL

Eric “PHONETICONTROL” Broers is the robot-friendly artist out of San Francisco who created the “Thought Processor” character and subsequently, the traveling exhibition. He collaborated with artist Sjors Trimbach, who designed the template for the paper sculpture.
For the Seattle show over 15 local artists were asked to use digital media to create their own Thought Processor colorway, which came to life as it was folded into a 3D robot. All of the colorways are available for free download at www.phoneticontrol.com. Print out and assemble your own Thought Processor! Each artist has also created an accompanying 2D piece of art for the exhibit.
Thought Processor is focusing on collaboration one city at a time, showcasing local artists in their respective cities at local galleries. The tour thus far includes San Francisco www.super7store.com , Los Angeles www.munkyking.com, Chicago www.ohnodoom.com, Seattle urbanlightstudios.com / halogengallery.com, New York www.myplasticheart.com, and Manilla. More are being added all the time.

“THO PRO” is designed by PHONETICONTROL and sculpted by Sjors Trimbach
